Student OrganizationsStudent clubs and activities are a vital part of campus life and often extend and deepen lessons from the classroom. The diversity of interests within the student population is reflected in more than 50 clubs. Many organizations further professional interests through sponsorship of career-related activities while other clubs have a social foundation or provide opportunities to pursue personal interests. The Business Student Club extends career and personal support to students? spouses and significant others and furthers their participation in campus life. Student organizations coordinate involvement in service and civic activities as well as athletics and academics. Club fairs introduce new students to all of these offerings, and students may join clubs at any time as their interests develop or change. Participation in club activities can also offer significant leadership and organizational management experience for those who choose to act as officers or coordinators of major events. Clubs host a wide range of speakers who serve as international business, political, and inspirational leaders. Student clubs also organize major conferences, which include the annual African-American Student Union Conference, Women?s Student Association conference, the Latin American conference, and the Scribe. |
